What started as a casual dinner with one of my girlfriends on Friday night quickly turned into a really fun Saturday! Over dinner, she mentioned she was hosting a Girls Wine Club night on Saturday, and—well, let’s just say I enthusiastically invited myself! (No regrets!)
The theme? Chardonnay Night—and the rule was simple: bring a bottle for everyone to sample. So fun, right?!
Mr. B even tagged along for some guy time while we ladies sipped and savored. At the recommendation of my local wine expert, I brought a lovely 2022 Taft Street Chardonnay, and it did not disappoint! This bottle had beautiful notes of pear and lemon, followed by fruit-forward flavors of honeysuckle and apple. It had the most luxurious creamy texture with hints of toasted almond and crème brûlée. Some even call it the perfect balance of oak and creaminess—honestly, I have to agree!
Mr. B, of course, came prepared with his own stash of sake and bourbon for his time with the guys—classic!
After we wrapped up our tasting (and, let’s be honest, a few extra sips!), we hit the streets for a little local bar hopping and live music. Great drinks, great people, and even better memories.
And you know what? I’m so glad I invited myself to this one. I can’t wait to do it all over again!
